PORT DICKSON,

15 November 2023 - Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir said that UCSI Hospital has great potential to change the state’s healthcare landscape.

In a speech delivered at the Hospital’s opening ceremony, the Negeri ruler said that UCSI’s presence would enhance the state’s private healthcare options.

“With quality healthcare offerings and experienced specialists, the people of Negeri Sembilan, particularly Port Dickson residents, have another avenue for healthcare treatment and services,” he said.

“The Hospital is part of the UCSI Health Metropolis - a mega project that seeks to turn Springhill into a hub of health and edu tourism.

“This makes UCSI Group one of the biggest investors in Negeri Sembilan and I would like to thank them for their trust and confidence in the state.”

UCSI is also running an international school and a private school in Springhill. Plans to build a hotel, a convention centre, a university campus, a lifestyle mall, sports facilities and retirement homes are in the pipeline.

Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa, UCSI Group advisor Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin, UCSI Group executive chairman Dato’ Peter Ng and UCSI Healthcare Group chairman Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah were also present.

Dr Zaliha said that the ministry would work together with private hospitals like UCSI to address issues outlined in the Health White Paper.

“I would like to congratulate UCSI for being the only private hospital in Malaysia to establish a public wing, enhancing access to quality healthcare,” she said in her speech.

“Effective public-private partnership will ease the stress on public hospitals, reduce patient congestion, improve health awareness and prevent diseases at every layer of society.”
